Every angle its pretty

Its a lazy Saturday morning and a call comes in. Looked at the phone and the number that is displayed is surely a land line phone number but its not familiar. There is a brief hesitation, its ringing and ringing. There are many news of International phone numbers being used for scams, and this is a local number. Without much further thought, the phone is answered. A short chat and its confirmed the call is from telemarketing business. How did they get my number? A short call to the telco and it looks like I have to pay to enable some sort of process to stop that particular call or I can use the mobile phone's blacklist feature to drop calls from that number. If its registered as a private phone number, nothing much can be done. On most Android mobile phone's its just a matter of selecting that number, long press till the menu is displayed to blacklist the number. Select it and your are done. Is there something more that can be done? Considering crime index places Malaysia...

The justice system works but when local religious authorities are vexed, there will be no love or compassion. The Malaymail Online reported on 10 Oct 2017, on the death of Kassim Ahmad. A citizen blog, question if the local religious department have labeled him as undeserving to receive grace from their god. https://akarimomar.wordpress.com/2017/10/10/mendiang-atau-allahyarham-kassim-ahmad/ A more detailed article on Pak Kassim is found here . Typically, here is a man willing to discuss his views but none are willing to openly debate. Instead, use on censorship and local religious laws are taken. A long time ago, it would have been understandable, but in this day its a pity to chain great minds. Since there is a grave shortage.

On 16 July 2009, Teoh Beng Hock was found dead at Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) building. Teoh and several others had been hauled up for questioning the day before. Much later it was made known that the others had shared they were treated badly, denied a lawyer, deprived of water and food. Teoh is an aide to exco member Ean Yong Hian Wah, which MACC seems to be trying to build a case upon. There is hardly any news on outcome of that particular investigation. What is the mystery? He is said to have fallen off the 14th floor of the MACC building. There are not CCTV in the interrogation room. Thai and British forensic pathologist experts were called in for the investigations. MACC claimed to have already released him, but still held Teoh's possession and mobile phone. Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on 21.7.2011 declare Teoh had committed suicide due to aggressive questioning. A suicide note found in the sling bag which is in police custody after 1 year. Thi...

On 21.8.2017, The USS John McCain collided with tanker Alnic MC. Details of what actually happen is still unclear, but being on one of the busiest shipping lanes doesn't give any excuses as there are strong rules of the road. The port-aft of the navy ship was crushed inwards, which accounts for water compartments and any cabins being destroyed. From the vesselfinder routes, it is shown that Alnic MC was at about 10 knots, heading South-West when the incident occurred. Possibilities that led to the collision? Human fatigue, carelessness, not following rules, ship navigation failure, engine failure, hacked navigation system are among those that comes to mind. It is sad news that the 10 bodies of sailors from that USS John McCain have been recovered. All were found within the navy ship itself as reported by theStar . One unidentified body is also found within the compartments and expected to be handed over to Malaysian authorities. Compared to the USS Fitzgerald collission co...

The South East Asian (SEA) Games 2017 is hosted in Malaysia and runs from 19th Aug to 30th Aug 2017. The official website is Kuala Lumpur 2017 and keeps an updated list of events for the 38 sports joined by 11 countries. Its opening was well organised and there was good coverage/broadcast to promote the event. Most notable international news isn't of the type expected but of blunders in the media, where flags are wrongly displayed. Obvious unhappiness is displayed as several Malaysian private and government websites being defaced. Even the host country isn't spared as a wrong flag is displayed for Malaysian swimmer Keith Lim. Or the media knew something we were not aware of. Wrong flag displayed for Malaysia (from youtube) Wrong flag displayed for Thailand (from youtube) Latest medal tally, indicates that Malaysian athletics are much more prepared than the promoters and media of SEA games. Too much of dependency for news updates from twitter and facebooks might...

If you are not doing DIY that often, drilling might not be a natural nor easy task. I found a good read and reference by Eugene Brennan while learning to drill on my own. Drilling is just taking a drill, fit that long screw like thing called "bit" and turn the power on. Put a bit of force while the bit turns slow or fast and you have a hole. Not all bits are the same, and its best to use the proper bit type for specific surfaces. The drill itself have wire powered or cordless for low power or high power. General steps to drilling: Mark the drill spot with a pencil. Use a nail and with a hammer lightly hit the nail to make a dent at the drill spot. With the bit fitted into the drill, start with a slow drill until there is a hole. Remainder of the hole you could use a faster/hammer drill until the desired depth. Remove the drill from the hole. Here is a table on type of bits for different surfaces. Source from dengarden.com Example of drill bit types Hole ...
