It is with a feeling of sadness to learn that on 22 July 2016, the search for MH370 is suspended. The Malaysian government have indicated they would only accept the results to what happen to MH370 if the black box is found. Which in this case, its very unlikely going to be found by any government led effort.
I would imagine that it will lead to similar situation like this;

Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai announce the flight path was found on Captain Zaharie flight simulator at home. This is the path that has led to the almost similar search area Australia is leading.
Among question is still not answered include,
Why French authorities were still waiting for documents from several parties including Boeing, and insisted on holding on to the wing part as court evidence?
What had made the authorities decide to use a search area define on the basis that there were no 'inputs' during descent?

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) decided to keep clear of further speculations by denying certain reports made by The Australian Today by Byron Bailey. In short ATSC say its searching in places only based on information given and nothing more. Seems that Byron however took the effort to describe what could have been.

The Malaysian government had declared along with China and Australia that the search for MH370 is suspended. In Malaysia, this news was very low key and hardly anyone was aware. Even families of those from the flight were not given space on that day to express any questions and concerns.

Fugro, the firm hired to carry out the search by ATSB is reported to have said that there might be other scenarios. Or, they could be looking at the wrong place. Presently, no authorities have even suggested to explore such alternative scenario.

A private initiative is being planned and would be conducted with the least amount of media attention less there is interference by government forces to find the ill fated MH370. True to the form of open source initiatives, they will find many sources leading to the location but the results may never get revealed to the world.
Participants from all over the world would install an application where they need to go outdoors and help with the search. This could be direct or indirectly with their knowledge that they are helping to trace MH370.
Collection of data contributes to big data and soon an algorithm built by AI determines what actually happens in a similar incident in the future. Even if MH370 mystery doesn't get solved, this new app helps to avert the next disaster.
