Saw several unfortunate but dangerous robbery in housing areas of Putra Heights. Though its 1 year ago, but it call for us to be vigilant. Gated or not. Reason that I am collecting these news is to record that there are cases happening around us and that more needs to be done to increase security.

On 16 April 2013, the police finally formed a "task force" to catch one group. Good job but why so long to catch these people who have been operating for 2 years? And how long before these criminals are released?
"SHAH ALAM: A robbery gang's two-year trail of terror has come to an end with the arrest of seven men.
Selangor police chief DCP Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said the gang was believed to be behind 81 robberies in the Klang Valley 27 in south Klang, 15 in Serdang, 11 in Subang Jaya, nine in north Klang, seven in Gombak, six in Shah Alam, four in Petaling Jaya and two in Kajang.
He said the suspects were arrested following a robbery in Putra Heights on March 25 when six parang-wielding men wearing ski masks and gloves robbed a woman.
“The 37-year-old victim, who has a hardware supply business, lost jewellery, mobile phones and cash worth RM20,000. However, she and her four children were unharmed,” he said at the state police headquarters here yesterday.
He said a task force was then set up and seven suspects aged between 21 and 30 were arrested in Puchong, Subang Jaya and Port Klang two days after the robbery.
“One of the men is believed to be running a pawn shop. Police are still investigating his involvement in the robberies,” said DCP Tun Hisan.
Owners of the jewellery looking to reclaim their belongings could do so after police have concluded their investigations, he said.
They can contact Insp Heirme Che Mad of the Subang Jaya police district headquarters at 014-238 9151."

Case 1: 4th Jun 2012
"Fyi. My brother in law who stays to 10/1 forwarded this to me:-Dear All,
Tonight a family staying at 10/1k were robbed by a gang of Indian robbers with Parangs at about 9.30pm. The robbers escape with the family’s car and other valuables. The family members were tied and there were children and old folks in the house at the time of robbery.
It seems that the gang of robbers came in with a car most likely through Entrance B during the opening hours between 6 to 8pm. They were waiting in a car at the playground and were just waiting to strike any family who happen to come back at the time.
Due to this we have decided with the Police advice that Entrance B will be closed with immediate effect at ALL TIMES due to this unfortunate incident. This could happen to any of us so in order for us to have the Guards at the Entrance and be able to patrol, we have decided not to spare a Guard just to guard Entrance B as filtering is almost impossible at Entrance B. It is not possible to prevent external cars to come in during the opening hours in the morning and evening as the cars are turning in at high speed without stopping.
Kindly understand that we only have 2 guards on duty at any one time, hence we cannot afford to spare a Guard at Entrance B and the cars are coming in so fast through Entrance B, filtering work is almost impossible here. The gang of robbers had most probably came in through Entrance B and hence we should not allow this to continue to jeopardize the safety of our families for the sake of covenience just for a few row of residents."

"Another armed robbery case at Putra Harmoni.
This morning at 5.40 am our guard at post A spotted Harrier black colour carry registration number WQR 5872 with 4 Chinese men inside.
At about 6.30 am owner of house no. 1, Jalan Putra Harmoni 1/4D spotted the same car waiting in front of house no. 2 Jalan Putra Harmoni 1/4D.
The Indonesian maid went out to wash the owner’s car outside, 4 mens with full mask, well-dressed and armed with parang went inside the house (no 2 Jalan 1/4D) thru the opened main door and forced all the family members to surrender their valuables and cash.
They spoke a Chinese dialect and Mandarin. Strangely enough the robbers even knew the number of people inside the house.
Neighbours who watched the incident screamed and the thieves fled within 10 minutes carrying along valuable items and safe box.
This was a well planned house break in and look like early morning now is a favourite time for house break in."

Case 1: 21 Feb 2013
"Was informed by my colleague that his home got robbed before Chinese New Year, in Putra Avenue.
About 7 chinese fellas jumped over the gates and rushed in and robbed his family whilst he was away in NZ. Incident had traumatised the whole family by the size of the group! Another 2 fella (drivers) were waiting in a Silver Accord and a White Vios. They wore mask and gloves too. Polis reports made and the pois was also informed about the Silver Accord and White Vios.
And apparently the (same?) fellas with the same vehicles, made a daring morning robbery at the very next lane in Putra Heights yesterday... thought you guys should know that the main gate was also closed – it didn’t stop/deter those bastards from jumping over the gates and rushed into the house, robbing the occupants. So be careful – even when you’re at home!"
